It's a decent idea (shock) but if priced reasonably at lets say £25 and dump the Abba tribute group. I'm one who won't be parting with £45 before the season has ended, great timing................ NOT [glow=red,2,300]Dickhead[/glow] ffs who wants to listen to Abba songs on a footy night eh?! No wonder Mark Peters couldn't make it as a DJ

[glow=red,2,300]Dickhead[/glow] and i was going to suggest to mark tomorrow that he scans an eye of the messageboard to get a feeling on people's reactions. and people wonder why i don't get other people at the club to read b&a!

Oh come off it Ian.People might not agree with everything thats written on here but at least anyone at the club who did peruse this board would be left in no doubt as to the strenght of feeling and committment of people who have a lifelong love of STFC and have not chosen them as a career option. If it's a complient lovein your after stick to the official sites.

not at all, but you then get people saying we should take notice of what the fans say on b&a.
so i'll go in tomorrow and say mark take a look at b&a mate, their great feedback to the idea is that your a dickhead?

Last year was my first year at the end of season Do and although I enjoyed it I did feel that it needed a bit more entertainment of which i wouldn t have minded paying for.But £45 a head is out of the question.Remember the tenner for the Soul Train night which lost money cos nobody would pay that. Ian ,get the word dickhead deleted and then let Mr Peters have a look ;D

or Ian, how about,
" hey mate that idea is prehaps not 1 of your best, have a look at B&A, there is a bit of constructive critisisum, 1 or 2 are even calling you a dickhead, but hey mate thats better than some of the things you were called when you were a DJ"
or somthing to that effect??

OK, so now we know where all the councillors are going to be generating their fakey support for STFC, so why don't we organise the B&A Alternative Footy Awards for the same night at a different venue?
Perhaps awards for "Best right-footed left-side player", "Longest gripe at the Ref", The DDAS award for best shaven-headed STFC striker of the year.... the list could be endless!

Not being funny but £45 for a do like this isnt extortionate, however i do think that Mr Peters is perhaps misguided if he thinks the diehard fan taking home the basic wage and supporting a young family can afford this event which in previous years has always been accessable to him.
I have no problem at all with the club putting on a summer ball with guest speakers etc and charging a nice juicy wedge, but the end of season awards should be for the fans, not just for middle england and business types and should not have been combined with what is basically an elitist event.

To put things into perspective, My Mess summer ball this year for the wife and i is costing £180. that is for food and entertainment. and i have no choice in going, i Have to go, simple as, and thats before i even have a drink.
(always a quality night though). But Kickin has hit the nail on the head, however..................

For starters Ian that could be the best approach. Secondly might i add in last thursdays "Telford Journal" the free paper that the Telford folk get shoved through there letterbox for free,........"Mr Mad Peters"(the papers words not mine) was appearing live thursday night in Brielieghs nightclub

Yup, agree with Kickin aswell.
It pees me off a little that Mr Peters doesn't really seem to know much about the supporters of the football club. £45 a head? You're having a laugh....
Hopefully the supporters groups will put on as good an evening as they usually do for a fiver a head, the night is usually a good laugh for all there.

and alot of people go as a family, younger fans say 11 or 12 or younger, their parents have 2 pay for them as well as having to pay for themselves!! so many people will drop out and not many people will go i shouldnt think!i think its way 2 expensive and maybe this can be talked about because the event wont b as good a success if hardly n e 1 goes!! boooooo!

Paul my wife many years ago cooked in the O/mess at a local RAF camp At the summer ball I would go and be a glass collector for the night. The event stated at 7pm and was still going strong at 4am when we finished. I can assure you they got there moneys worth. How can you hand out player off the year awards before the season is finished. What if Howie saves two pens in the playoff pen shootout to secure our return to the football league. I would have thought any marketing manager worth his salt would have already scanned the messageboards or is he too busy preparing to be Mr Mad Peters

Hold on. Chris Smith was talking about this Thursday night at the Commercial meeting.
Yes its a good idea to get to fund raise but there is also a need for a night for the fans too. I don't think Chris has given up on there being both.
Interesting that parties are going to the press rather than announcing this through the website - when they knew that it was contreversial - and Chris Smith has made this quite clear.

will probably be as well attended as his special matchday offer of kids for more than they would be in the family stand. How much were Telford charging for their dinner with Jimmy Greaves? I thought it was £25? So why would we be being charged £45??? Had wanted to go to one, but hey at £45 theres no chance I can aford that. Thats over a 1/3 of a Glastonbury ticket!!! I know a few other people as well who now wont be going. Far too expensive.

come on ian, mark peters can't moan at anyone for speaking their minds, after all it appears the jury have already made a decision on this one, its too late to prejudice this idea.
