Coming out of the thread regarding your 2nd fave team was my idea that B&A 'adopt' a foreign team to follow.
Obviously, it's early days, but it would be great to think that in future we could form some links with them and go out to see them play.
What we need now, are some solid suggestions on who we should adopt.
JAMO has suggested St Pauli, a lower division team in Germany.
If people can reply here with the team's name, some information about them etc. then we could have a poll in a few days time and get the ball rolling.
I'm well up for it!
So get your team names in now.......

For what its worth heres my take on this
The team should be a team in a place where many english folk go any way - like a holiday destinations - not some where that you would have to take a spesific trip to.
It sould be a team with some links to the club - kit col for a start!!!
and it would be nice if it was one of the teams from one of the regions we already have representitives in - Stutty in Germany, Bejazus in Majorca, The USA shrews, Ect ect
I would go for A team in majorca for the reasons above but as too who some local knowledge would be required -
All in all a very very nice idea!!!!

It's a big thing over here in Germany for supporters...
The Stuttgarter Kickers have amongst their 'friends' FC Zürich, Kickers Offenbach and FC Hansa Rostock.
I love the suggestions thus far...Mallorca and St Pauli!! One a hot sunny holiday resort, the other the red light district of Hamburg...both get my thumbs up, can't we have both!!!
The twin town idea sounds good...

Great one plimmer
Utrecht is an absolutely fantastic city. and a great place to visit.
They do have a big stadium though and made it into the UEFA cup for the first time in their history a few seasons ago. Used to be a lower league side in the top dutch division though. I think people were looking for a smaller team though.
Where were them dutch lads that were down the meadow a few years ago from?

I would official like to enter Puerto pollensa fc, for adoption by the Blue and Amber Board.
The team does indeed play on sand, and faginy may be a bit premature in the accomodation department, but i have made some good conections here and sure i could get excellent rate on group bookings. The honourary chairman of club is a scouser who arranges trips to liverpool each year to see the pool, he would also be good contact for flights etc. The main reason that they play on sand is the fact that all through the season they run soccer schools for all age groups. I will post some pics soon to help push the cause, There is even a bar at ground (should pull in a few votes!!) oh and it is 300yards from beach.

Zutphen have a team themselves (possibly too small though - they appear to have similar problems in getting decent linesmen as the ASFC) www.bequickzutphen.nl/We seem to be looking in the right area though? (Cheap flights to Amsterdam then train out there)

The Dutch team ASFC played was F.C. Seolto. Fantastic bunch of lads and a great day was had with them.
Their club already have good links with STFC and I still have the contact details for their chairman (tho' I haven't contacted him for best part of 2 years now - so I hope they haven't changed).
Yep Seolto get my vote. Their club colours are orange and blue (which is good enough), and they like a drink!!!

Start a poll off Pilch Cracking idea lads, perhaps I'm a bit soft but I would like us to support this 'second team' in a deprived county (sorry country) where they might actually gain something from us rather than looking out for results on the net. And I don't mean Telford Utd either Just an idea though...

Cowdenbeath, a.k.a "The Blue Brazil"? Could possibly double their home following with a minibus full One benefit though - you can park right next to the ground ;D

Why not a small english/welsh non league team.
It'll be easier for us to go and watch, and when we only take 50-100 people it'll still be considered a large following.
And may eventually lead to some decent links being set up and maybe give STFC a better insight and chance in signing the better non-league players about.
A team in a league below Hucknall but a few notches up from the midland alliance.

There is no reason why we cant have both skip - forgin team and a small english team - years ago i would have said radcliff borough would be a good shout but its all it bit close between us and them in many ways now

How about malmo in sweden, we already have a swedish supporters branch, they all speak and love the crazy english and the national team plays in the right colours.
Malmo is a wonderfull city and only a small hoverspeed ride from copenhagen, which is another fantastic city.

As for the Ozzie team, try Perth Glory, My second team as I used to watch them while over there.
Also happen to be the most successful team in the Oz League

If we plan to go out and watch one day, as the first post suggests , then i feel we should look for a team in Holland preferably in the Amsterdam area

Utrecht is only an hour south of amsterdam and a much better city to visit. So this looks like a good option.

Why go to a disgusting dirty country full of junkies and whoars when a clean beutiful country such as sweden is within reach? Stuff uterecht and the dam, Malmo gets my vote, and if you choose to ignore my good advice i will ignore your choice of adopted team

theres more chance that people will be able to come out in force and we will be able to have a greater influence if we adopt a team in our homeleand that is considerably smaller than us.
