The Idea of pre match entertainment would have to be bloody good to get me out of the Crown before kick-off On a seious note! I hope he does an excellent job, especially if he can make our fan base even bigger

Clearly a 'Colin Poole' appointment, and one which will be important in any move of ground.
It'll be interesting to see in which direction we're heading. To be honest 'Pre-match entertainment' has flopped on its arse most places as anything other than a nice little side-show (it doesn't draw the crowds).
A full time role?

It would be terrible if it was The guy is part of the Shrewsbury Town that I love. some of his comments recently have been brilliant the one when Thompson of Morecambe (or Accy) was being subbed, and he said "replacing the ever popular Neil Thompson is...." LOL

do you think he'll be making prejudicial comments about local crown court cases to entertain us? he is the one who got sacked over things he said about the soham trial while it was still running isn't he?! ermmm, good apointment. ahem.

I can't see that this will make much difference to the regular announcers, but this is not the sort of appointment I was expecting.
If he is doing marketing then it is surely Mike Thomas & co that he will be working with (or instead of)
I had never heard of him until he got the sack from Beacon Radio, and I wonder how he is going to get people in to the ground.

did anyone listen to this guy on Beacon FM?
A very very poor presenter with childish humour and so I gave up on the radio station
I do hope he doesn't do the same with my football club!
I am prepared to give him the chance though, maybe he will have some bright ideas!

Obviously Mr Poole knows him from his former column for Axcess, I dont think he would replace Ryan and Frank with 'immediate effect' but he could be a natural successor for the future, I love it when visiting fans tell me that 'your PA man is a prat', if he annoys away fans then he's doing his job properly Ryan rules! Even if he does tempt fate with 0-0 draws, takes the p**s out of slow moving substutions etc..... Wasnt 'Marketing Manager' Chris Jarrett's title? Does that mean the end for CJ?

Nobody has Whitters. People just putting 2 and 2 together as getting 626!
I think it shows a new direction that the football club are going in and it's to be welcomed. We have moaned that the club isn't professional enough, and has been poorly run. Well at last the club are taking steps to change this.
I'm interested to see what ideas Mark comes up with. Would be interesting to see if the some of the ideas that have come through the Umbrella Group get implemented.
Overall, a good appointment and a step in the right direction.

To be fair, we were just wondering if Ryan's traditional style will fit in with the new direction that the club will be pursuing.
Yoof radio and all that.
What are this guy's credentials (apart from ill-judged remarks on ongoing court cases) ?

Interesting that in the last edition of Axcess Magazine ( Mr Poole's other current baby) that Mark had been asked to join the editorial team.
Guy lives in Telford. As Im said his appointment has to be seeen as a positive step.

Seems a very strange appointment to me - I always thought he was a complete prat when on Beacon. Maybe Lisa will have to come with him if they're still sharing the same brain cell? Seriously though, if he's going to help increase attendances then good luck to him - I'll be surprised if he makes much difference IMHO
