In a suprise move today, Brian Perry, the Shrewsbury Town groundsman signed for local rivals Telford Utd in a deal worth an initial £50k but could rise to £250k dependant on performance.
A fuming Telford chairman, Sandy-- I wear tinted glasses-- Shaw was concerned that his plan to con the local supporters into attending todays game against Alfreton to obtain a voucher in order to get an over-priced ticket for the FA Cup game against Millwall had gone tits up.
"This should never happen" raged Sandy. " We've had less rain here than at Shrewsbury and their game is on." "Dont blame it on this brand new super-dooper stadium that I built 'cos I won't have it"
Brian Perry was unavailable for comment due to laughing his cock off in Wem CC.
A spokesman for the Federation of Master Builders was also unavailable for comment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£12 to stand at a league game at the Meadow.
£12 to stand at a FA Cup game at the Ducks Shed.

" HOPE YOU DONT GO UP"
Says it all. if I said I was worried about telford ever leaving the conference I'd be lying.
Club geared for league football? yeah right, you dont have a youth team, or reserve team you struggle to get 1,500+. You have no foundations for League football.
Oh and a hotel is not a requirement, especially when its in a rough part of Shropshire on wasteland ;D

Yeah this idiot is exactly that - an idiot.
However skipwithrob as ever has excelled himself - claiming we're not geared for the league.
Everything is in place - apart from the pitch and consistency. We were never going to do too much this season, with 20 new players.
Rumour has it, reserve team next season.
Get the pitch sorted, earn a bit of money this season and concentrate on the league next season.

skipwithrob i think is generally an idiot
the guy who posted that post on you wasnt very clever and is pointless obviously but my point was how are we ripping off our fans with a prices of £12 to stand in an fa cup fourth round match when you charge that for league games against northwich and farnborough?? its not the price just the statement our fans are being ripped off - theyre clearly not as its a fair price
oh and the comment " ducks shed" very amusing - once again compare the grounds - who resembles the shed? our away stand isnt being held up with barbed wire boys

sorry but in my book part of League football is having the set up, that being First team, Reserves and youth.
Not First team and a Hotel.
How can you expect to challenge when you only have at best 14 players playing at one time?

i think thats his point - hotel this year creates revenue for next years budget meaning we have more money available for wages due to the wage capping. we bring in a reserve team plus carry on with the scheme at tcat and then we progress from there good planning i think and i guess that arguments won then - well done

There's certainly a massive amount of forward thinking by AS and the board, its a shame they didn't keep the bloody thing ticking a year or two ago when we had Bentley, Moore, Albrighton etc on board.
The foundations have been laid, 2 seasons before we are challenging for the title at the very most!

My comment was not anti telford. Too a certain extent I agree that off the pitch you are nearly geared to League football, just got the community links to work on and thus the attendances.
However with any club (not just telford) I believe that it is essential certanly to have a youth set up, but prefereably reserves too.

Plenty of hotels Steve , prices no different from any of the others, however hotel surrounded by Hadley, Arleston,Regent street, might prefere to book a room in Iraq ;D

Stevenelsonfanclub, you're a sensible bloke, do you honestly think Mr Shaw will still be pumping money into the club if TUFC aren't in the league within the next two seasons?

Wasn't addressed to me. But in my opinion yes. He's been here for 7 years now.
Why would he walk away when it hasn't profited yet?
He had a dream and won't walk away... I hope.
