Our next game is at home against Morecambe in the fa trophy , so what do you reckon, this poll might give an indication to the club of what action we would like to see re: the station end.
Did you stand there at the last home game?
If you did'nt will you go in there next home game if they open it?
If you don't agree with it at all say so below,to let the club know your comments or feelings on the matter.

This surely must be the game when the club start to deliver the price reductions they promised for some games back in the summer?

I voted to keep it open , i feel having stfc fans behind that goal encourages extra support to our team when attacking that end.

It'd be nice if they could drop the price a bit, as we've played them twice already this season so not much inclination to watch 'em again for usual price in the unglamorous FA Trophy.
Also after that godawful result yesterday, people may need enticing back!

I voted no! No Town fans in the Station end Any travelling fans can go in the seats In fact you could close the Station end altogether save on stewarding, policing, and snack bar staff too And reduce charges by a few pounds (anyone who went yesterday should be allowed in for free)

if the team play like yesterday again, the club will be able to close the riverside by half-time.

If they do open it up there is no reason what so ever not to open the gate so fans can go between the Riverside and Station End. They are hardly going to fight each other are they

I don't think the club are allowed to
Somebody posted something to that effect before the Boxing Day game, something to do with ground regulations/safety certificate, that kind of thing ...

i did remind K Sayfritz of reduced admissions for the Morecambe game at the last Umbrella meeting. He said he would mention it to J Shone but not sure if this has come to anything.
A sticking problem maybe that the FA dont allow such deals but it would be nice to know if the idea has ben considered.

Just to play the Devil's Advocate here , how would Town fans react if they went to an Away ground and were only allowed to sit ?! I think we'd here more than a few complaints on this and that Clubs Board.

That surely depends on the price they're asked to pay?
Northwich fans were allowed to sit in the Station Stand on Boxing Day for £12, the normal price for the Station End terrace, rather than the usual £14
Sounds like they got a good deal to me, were Town fans in the same stand also offered the same reduction?

It depends how many away fans there were.
If there's only going to be a small number of away fans I think putting them in a smaller seated section is fair enough. I would expect this if Salop were away from home and only had a few supporters. I think it was done at Darlington in the great escape year, no complaints from me.

I haven't voted because I don't think it is fair. However, for those yet to vote I think it would only be fair to allow Morecambe fans to have the Station End. Firstly, precedent. We were allowed to have the Station End in the league earlier this year and in the LDV last year when the number of visiting supporters was a lot less than it will be on Saturday. Secondly, don't compare us to Northwich. We are well aware of your awesome travelling support but bear in mind we took 700+ to Accrington Stanley and 400+ to Halifax. Can't guarantee those numbers on Saturday but Northwich we ain't. Finally, surely it is the decent thing to do. As someone else has pointed out 'how would you like it'. You've been treated dreadfully at places like Chester and for us being shoved into some seats in a corner of a stand would be equally dreadful for us, somewhat disrespectful and a little arrogant.
P.S. We're playing better than earlier in the season. But not much.

I don't see why putting the away fans in the seats would be bad, arrogant, violate their human rights or whatever.
The view from there is certainly no worse than on the station end and they'd make a better noise in it.

Well done Ant. You read my message, ignored most of it, chose part of it, exaggerated that out of proportion and then came back with some patronising drivel. Maybe I should have mentioned that, like most of your supporters, we like to stand. Thanks anyway.

Sorry if you took it like that but I'm get tired of the seemingly endless number of posts from opposition fans who jump on the bandwagon to accuse of being arrogant - when there is no mandate to do so.
For the record I don't think the Station End should be given to the home fans for this Saturday's game but stand by my point that putting the Morecambe fan's in the seating area would be at no disadvantage to them in terms of view and making noise etc.
I take your point about fans preferring to stand up to watch football though.

I voted yes. Anyone who went to Southend at home last season will remember that about 100 SUFC fan's made the trip to GM. There was Three fan's in the station end- that says it all.

Ant just to clarify I was referring to the decision, which is merely hypothetical, being an arrogant one. As for Shrewsbury being arrogant - nonsense. Quite simply the best away trip of the season, talked to loads of informed fans and had a good laugh. Add to that a great town, excellent pubs and decent weather it was top notch. The LDV game was just as good.
I will say that a lot of Exeter fans have been arrogant in assumptions about the points deduction, the way they shove away supporters into a crap stand and then moan about away facilities - I haven't heard anything like it from Shrews fans.

Never understood that one about Exeter. have to say they were very kind and generous when they offered to those of us who had paid to stand on the terrace the opportunity to sit in the stand for free (due to weather). It was a very kind gesture which most of us took up greatfully. That stand wasn't to bad either. because of their stuards actions it just reinforced what I already thought of Exeter City football club. A great club, with a great set of fans.
Surprised you knocked the Northwich fans, they brought a hardy 250 or so fans and made a fair bit of noise. A good turnout from them, brilliant infact if you take into account the size of their fan base.
If the club believes that you'll bring less than 300 or so fans then it has every right to put you in the seated section. A clubs main concearn after performaces and fiance, should be trying to please its home supporters, not away fans.
Having said that I do sympathise with you, given the choice I'd stand any day, better atmosphere, often better sight lines and of course its cheeper.

think about it for a minute. there is no connection from the station end to riverside. you would have to go through the gate behind the goal, along the pitch, up the gangway and back into the back of the riverside. you can't really have fans going between the two around the side of the pitch.

Ian, there are two rows of fences stopping the home supporters and away supporters greeting one another, at the top of this is a small gangway with gates, open these gates and problem solved.
