I'm starting to get very dispondant about the whole New Meadow thing and the fact that the club is staying put for another 5-10 years at least The thing that annoys me about the council is that we have had nothing put properganda waged against this club and every little thing that we do is scutinised by the powers that be. It's all the negative comments, the s**tty letters, the objections, the 'hooligan' element that rules this town- wouldn't it be good for just somone to say 'hang on, this club isn't really that bad and look at the revenue this club generates for the town' The Everton game proved this, everybody jumped on the bandwagon and now they are leaving us high and dry to sort this mess out. This powertrip that the council is on has to be nulified and it's about time those who support this club, be it on or off the pitch, stood it and be counted.

Can someone explain the 'How they voted' statement made in today's midday edition of the Shropshire Star. Quote..... 'In a an initial vote 20 councillors said they did not want to buy Gay Meadow while 12 did. Councillors had a final vote which was not recorded, where 19 voted for it , 12 against and one abstention.'
What was the reason for the unrecorded vote? What was the cause for the swing in the vote? or have the Shropshire Star got this all wrong?

That was a slight mix up with his words when Mr Sayfritz said building on the New Meadow, that is not the case, or a least for the time being as housing has already been refused for the New Meadow and the plan the for Stadium has been approved, The application will go in for the development of the Gay Meadow.
At the moment the council want a get out clause with them owning the New Meadow and the club paying rent, not an option when the club need the revenue from the stadium, other clubs have nearly floundered taking the 'rented' option. The council need to fulfil the leisure requirment for the Sutton,Meole end of town if they owned the NM this would count as sports facilities for them.
Next on the agenda should be a meeting with the club's bosses to see where they need our help next, fighting the covenant etc, its only on the pitch so that might not be a huge hurdle although it might have to go to court. It is important that we know the facts about where we go forward from here.
