A few people have posted since tha start of the season about how you could fill the NewBuckshead yourselves in Febuary against us, if this was the case how come you didn't fill your own ground when we played you? exaggerating again i think?

I was going to say, at least I suppose Telford KNOW they have small crowds, I think the point Bally was trying to make is that some of our contingent have been getting abit carried away over the level of our support and therefore exaggerated our likely crowd at the NBH. We will fill the away end I'm sure, but the whole ground!? No chance!

what is the capacity of the Buck Shed these days?

Apparently the home terracing was closed near kick off as it was full to capacity. We can't help it if Telford didn't fill their end Bally ;D PS - I hope you got down in time Bally and didn't have to go on the away end ;D

Ant i'm not sad enough to write down or remember everything anytime someone posts something, but believe me it was posted more than once by different people, also someone put we should have the away end and you the rest. Greg apart from when you played us i think i have seen you 3 times this season Dagenham,Morecambe and Margate, i'm sure there are a few Shrews fans who have seen us at NBH as many if not more times than that, not that they will admit it

I probably live closer to NBH than any other Town fan and i haven't been once.Wouldn't want to fill the coffers of my main rivals for a start.Only trip to NBH will be to watch the Mighty Shrews.

Fair enough Bally but both sides have 'net warriors' who post rubbish

lol Bellvueshrew i was quite pleased with our away support at your place and our home support is also slowly growing, i think our average attendance has increased by more than any other Conference team this year and thats with You,Hereford and Chester still to play at home. I'm sure you will fill the away end 27/2 and its also good that it will be on SKY, although i would prefer it if we were still in the FA Trophy.

The way the Telford crowds have improved this season has been excellent for them. They have to sustain them over the remainder of the season though because i think they will drop if Telford have no chance of a play off place apart from the 3 derbies of course.

Maybe Greg but i think next year we will do better and it will be very interesting to see what sort of crowds we get?

WHO IS GARETH?and yes i do live within 200yds of NBH sadly for me.I can hear the crowd cheering when they score, but not very often because their home form is so bad.

Bally is right, there were indeed a number of posts about how we'd fill their whole ground etc.....
But as Ant said they're probably just net warriers.
If shaw sticks with Telford for the next 5 years at least and they are succesfull in one form or another over the next 5-10 years, then I do think telford will have a credible fanbase. However if Shaw pulls out after a year or two, or goes back to being part time, or telford struggle to get out of this league they will inevitably struggle to maintain gates of 1,500-2,000. People are drawn in at the moment by the excitement, The Any Shaw, Mick Jones and lee Mills revolution, it won't be long tho' untill this novality wears off and that is when telford united FC will have to start being succesful, at least in the short term.

If Telford got in the league would they do what Wycombe and Rushden have done and increase their crowds or would the novalty wear off like Macclesfield and Cheltenham? That is the key for any long term success because Andy Shaw is not a bottomless pit. A decent cup run always helps as well like this years for Telford and us last year.

Yeah joking aside so was I Bally. I was expecting about 500-600 Bucks fans taking into consideration what you have brought across in recent times, tho' obviously I appreciate the SSC hasn't got the same pulling power as a league game.
I think the Sloppy Star put the travelling support down as 1500. It will be interesting to see what Saturdays programme gives it as.
Had it been played on the Saturday as originally intended I wonder what the crowd would have been? I reckon it would have been well over 7,000.
The only down side I fear would have been that there would almost of certainly being trouble between the undesirable followers of the two clubs (we won't call them fans, eh).

Who knows Greg initially they would increase but then it would depend on how well we were doing? Shaw has stated that if we get in the league thats not the end as he wants to take us as far as he can? As for how far that is who knows it may be nowhere? He's been with us 5 to 6 years now and is only about 38,when he said he was going to bulid us a new stadium and leisure complex many scoffed at the idea, it has taken a while, but now everyone can see he has done what he said with a few hicups on the way. its still a bit weird playing in the new stadium as i'm used to the old ground and in some ways miss the old place as i'm sure some of you will miss GM if you ever get your new ground.

I for one can't wait till we leave GM because a new ground will hopefully have decent toilets in it.

Even though our new stadium is better in every way and certainly wouldn't swap it back for the old one, i had loads of good memorys from the old ground as i've been going ever since i can remember and still miss it. Mark my words you will miss the GM even though you may not think so now, the older fans especially.

Definately Bally.
Altho' it has to be done and I am all in favour of it I truly believe the atmosphere will never be the same again purely because it will be all seater. Will all the riverside choir sit together? I think not.
Also all the great games you can look back on and still see them at the mo 'cos its at the same ground. I'm lucky as I have loads of great memories from the 80's plus some from the 70's.
Hell I miss the scoreboard like crazy, which I used to help out in. They put the knife in and twisted it the day that was demolished. Even tho' it was well past its sell by date I still say the Meadow aint the same place without it and that is just one small slice of the ground.

Hey Bally a quick scan of confguide shows our average attendance at 4262 with yours at 1757 Now this is scewed our way because we have played you and Hereford already, while you are waiting for our visit Darn statistics, you can never trust them! Although there is certainly a pattern appearing! But what is the capacity of NBH Bally? Is it 6700 yet or is that when you do the new side? according to this site www.footballgroundguide.dial.pipex.com/telford.htmyour capacity is 4600, in which case I think we can be fairly confident we could certainly fill the home end (3300), if not the whole ground Over 2000 went to Chester, so we are half way there already, and considering NBH is just 15 minutes for many of us I think if it wasn't all ticket you would be in for a bit of a shock I am not saying we would fill it, the whole thing, but I am saying the demand from STFC this season will be far higher than you can cope with, and if Shaw wants his money he'd better open most of the ground up to STFC and get what he can! I visited the NBH for Brentford and I maintain my initial thoughts, that they should have moved it to where the forge retail park is when they had the chance. As long as it is in wellington it won't be owned by all of Telford and everyone will still pop along to the Wolves Having said that it is obviously an excellent facility and the hotel certainly looks impressive and is a useful business model that will serve you well Disappointed that 8 million got you 2000 ish seats and 2500 terracing with the hotel, whereas for 8 million we get 10,000 seats apparrently Now either someone is telling us porkies about the cost of our ground, or yours has gold taps and all the trimmings!

our capacity is 6700 currently and no doubt when shrews visit we'll fill our part of the stadium and youll be stuck with a poxy 1500 (tough s**t!)
" disappointed that 8 million got you 2000 ish seats and 2500 terracing with the hotel, whereas for 8 million we get 10,000 seats apparrently - surely you must prefer your new ground with some terraces as it wil ltake away the non league atmosphere!!
and og course we have gold taps and all the trimmings! we even have personalised telford carpet! ;D

Until we actually see the New Meadow who can say if you are getting value for money or not? Also Telfords ground started off at one price but kept rising whose to say the cost of yours won't rise? If you sold Luke the way he is playing now at least that would be 50k towards it ;D

Bally -what kind of argument are you trying to stir up here.
It will be interesting to find out just how many Telford fans came to the GM. Certainly not 2000. So I would suggest that whilst our end was almost full to capacity, your was far from.
Look at the average attendances figures for the Conference. Who is top by a thousand. T
