Saying all that his celebration with Cramb after the first goal to the NV fans was class, after getting all that abuse from them.

Sorry i saw zero improvement from before and infact he looked like he was (and did get beat everytime) by a team who are pretty much down.
top of the list of stupid things he did today still kicking it out of play, never being touch tight on the winnger, being out fought in the second half at 1-0 when the northwhich lad was left one on one with gregor and really should have scored, he kept running past the ball on easy interseptions gave at least 3 corners away in nothing situations and reacted really badly when he got some stick from the riverside by telling a group of fans to f*** off (this alone is enough to warrent him being dropped again) His distribution was poor and misplaced so many passes its not funny and consequently had to watch sammy do it all him self down the left again. oh and he tryed his new trick for the 3rd time (at morcambe and somewhere else where he got a player sent off) where every now and again when someone skinns him he starts cluching his face as if he has been punched when he never has - so he is a cheat as well
Lets be honest every team in this leage knows that the best way to beat the town is to attack gregor and the goals will come - there goal was from the left again today. At some points it honestly looked like he did not know what he was or is doing - i have had enough and cannot support him as a town player

"so he is a cheat as well"
Most players go down at some point or another when they have hardly been touched, would you please also accuse them of being cheats?

Post by El Huracán!!!! on Dec 26, 2003 19:37:13 GMT 1
theres a difference between being touched and not being touched there but yes players who go down from minimal contact are effectivly all cheats as well - not leagaly as far as the laws are concerencd but it is sneaky and wrong and most fans hate to see it

He was also getting stick from Tinson, Howie, Riddler. he sticks out from the rest, he has had chance after chance, not good enough at this level perhaps he would do better back a Northwich where the expectations are lower.

He only made 2 takles, both were corkers and in the first 5 minutes... i thought his performance was adequate, but i think he was more intrested in revenge on the NVFC fans..... Poor Greg he can't help being fat... ;D

Greg did O.K. but then again was he tested? 7-10 .If any balls were played over the top to their right-winger. Greg would have been left for dead as he was marking Ridler!,in the second half!

Pricey, I think you're spot on.
Mysticsdad, you were an excellent ref in the morning, but I do wonder which game you were watching this afternoon! Gregor tries his heart out - and for that he must be commended - but everything else about his game is inadequate. And today was no different to any other.
His distribution is so poor that I really started to pity him at the end. He can't control the ball properly and he is a very bad judge of where the ball is likely to bounce (!).
He is nothing short of a liability and the only time Northwich looked anything like dangerous was when they attacked Gregor. And these teams aren't daft - they realise he is the weak link, and they are going to attempt to make the most of his inadequacies.
He really has to be replaced. Sedgemore could do a job there, I guess, but you'd hope we can bring in a kosher left back to fill the gap long-term. I don't really care of someone like Edwards comes in there in the short-term as, quite frankly, they simply can't do a worse job ...

I thought Greg had a steady game today
He was definitely at fault for the goal
He also missed their winger a couple of times
some decent passes to feet, especially int he first half, and a couple of very good strong challenges
I do maintain he is the weak link in our team and that Sedge looks far far better there, but quite a lot of things said about him are just unfair and in some cases personally insulting and I don't think that is fair
he did OK today

howie rescued him in the first half, the bloke he was marking got in a free header
game silly balls away again
the goal came from the right
and what about the 40 yd back pass that went just 5 yds rescued by ridler
conf champs don't have dodgy players!

PeteD - way over the top. Rioch was cack - truly awful, he let them in for their goal. Bring back Potter PLEASE, he helped the team big time. cancel the Shroppy Stars if that saves the necessary money!

He is a liablility I know its easy to apportion blame , jump on the bandwaggon etc. but we were playing a very very poor team today who still managed to sneak a consolation. While he plays STFC = Conference Side simple really.

To be fair I thought he was fairly solid first half but second half he had a mare - slipping over, misjudging high balls, 50p feet passes and blatant cheating when he cocked up and then pretended he had been elbowed. He's a liability.

Exactly Shrew in Japan. He was fine in the first half - especially after a month out of the first team. We were doing a running commentary on him as he was tackling, completing passes etc. He almost rose to the bantering by the NV fans. In the second half he played along side the Riverside and the vitriolic comments started from behind us immediately he walked on to the pitch without having kicked a ball. It got to the point that we started to have our enjoyment of the games spoilt by one particular very loud prat (why do the prat's have such loud voices?) who criticised even completed passes and tackles (it was Jemson last year!). At one point he was told to go and support Telford if he considered what he was doing supporting the Town by one fan. You could actually see Rioch's confidence crumbling by the minute and I'm not surprised it got to him in the end. As for the goal - how many was he supposed to pick up? It was offside too and others in the defense seemed to stop playing a bit again. One of the corners he "gave away" was when the player hit the ball against him while waiting for it to go out. Tinson was yelling at him to do exactly what he did and then had a go at him for following instructions. Please stop the get Potter back routine (remember he was on loan at Reading too). IF what people want is a full back who completes all his passes he only made two completions against Margate and got away with it scott free, he was also caught out of position in most of his games a considerable number of times - also because the covering behing wasn't brilliant again. It is quite obvious that Rioch is this seasons hate focus, and there is one every year. Who will it be if he goes as there are those who will get withdrawal syptoms if they can't vent their anger on someone!

I thought he had a relatively good game, not that bad. Yes he does make mistkakes and more than others, but when Moss or OConner play two balls to nobody on the run the reaction from the riverside is 'oh well' but if its Gregor everybody goes nuts. If he plays then it isn't his fault JQ picks him! Criticising him and shouting abuse doesn't help the cause you can tell when he makes a mistake he is gutted and tries his hardest to make up for it, having a go at him just worsens the situation. At the end of the day he is playing for the town and we should all support him. 10 out of 10 for effort, i'd give yesterdays performance a 5

He's been p**s poor since he came back. Gregs always been a favourite player of mine for his 100% effort, but he is not up to it and the lay off appears not to have done him any good. Basic errors one after the other are having to be covered by Tinno and Rids and it is holding Sammy back in away games.
I would give Ross Stephens a go at Northwich next week, the lad has been on the fringes of the 1st team and it may be a game in which to give him a try.
