Many congratulations to the youngsters in our team today, they were a credit to the club , themselves, and was especially pleased with the way the crowd responded to them , by not getting on there backs or moaning when they did'nt always do the right thing, but giving them lots of encouragement and applause. Well done again.

David Edwards was the pick of the bunch. Shame he couldn't cap it off with a goal at the end. He deserves to get a chance of a run in the team with Tolley out and should definitely start against Accrington next week.
Glenn Tolley looked lively for the short time he was on the pitch. Set up Edwards and always looked prepared to run at defenders. I'm surprised he's not played more as I think he is a better right winger than Ryan Lowe.
Ross Stephens was hit and miss for me. He was full of effort and made a couple of good runs and tackles. But he was dragged out of position a few times and was beaten more often than Sedge on the other side. Nevertheless, hope he gets more chancesin the future and is at least on the bench quite frequentlybetween now and the end of the season.
Neville Thompson showed plenty of heart and commitment. He's very right-footed though, was almost scared to swing his right leg.
All in all, well done to all four!!!
PS Bet Danny March is a bit disappointed to be the only one not to get a look in!!!

Hopefully March may get a chance in the next round. This was an excellent experiment with the youth players being blooded in a competitive and entertaining game.. thought they did well especially young Edwards - a star of the future

Dave Edwards plays a very similar style as J Tolley. He was blowing a bit getting back into positon after his forward bursts though.

Who can blame him! He put in a fantastic amount of effort and the game is played at a quicker pace than he is used to in the reserves. Great performance

Shame he never got that goal at the end when he rounded the keeper.

Darby was brilliantly positioned to tap in the cross!

Maybe he was knackered because he was always looking to get the ball in the middle and get a move going, then attempting to be on the end of the move himself by getting further forward than the strikers.
Fair play to him, he did have a quality game. And if he's that good in central midfield immagine how good he is at central defense! ;D

Well done to all of them, the future is indeed bright if these lads are the ones to carry the club's fortunes
David Edwards was simply outstanding, better than Jamie Tolley at a comparable stage of his career in my opinion
Ross Stephens looked quite shaky defensively but got better as the game went on, he certainly deserves another go, a far better bet than Rioch for sure!
Not really fair to judge Neville Thompson when he was on for such a short time, need to see him some more before making too many judgements

This is obviously what the club needs- and the answer to the lack of passion and commitment that has dogged the team too often, lately. Give the youngsters a chance- they've got the fire, the energy and the enthusiasm to get us up where we want to be.

I suppose the FA trophy would be the best opportunity there going to get, as the league and FA cup JQ would want to play his most experienced side.
