we should get some t-shirts printed off saying "The new meadow, What Shrewsbury Wants"
then do a massive march through the town and get the press there, like radio reporters and shrop star. (wearing the t-shirts too)
then bombard the council with letters asking why they want to drive this town backwards instead of forwards.
And... we could do posters and stick them in shop windows etc, and do a petition.
just a few thoughts....
It's like they've got their foot stuck on the reverse pedal.
it's so annoying.

What about getting the support of people who want a theatre? I bet they are also very disappointed.
It seems crazy to me that the Council is happy to have a ramshackle old stadium in the middle of a conservation area, when they could have an attraction to rival Stratford and move all the nasty football fans out of town.

Thats a very good point.
i think plenty of press and radio attention would be a good idea.

It is important that we get enough support on board.
We need to tie our New Meadow arguements in with the Theatre and other arguments. By just focussing on the New meadow we will isolate a lot of people. this could be the opportunity to get a lot of people on board and thus we must take into account other issues.

What does the local MP think about all this or is he to busy with other things !!! It may be good to get his support. Also go more wide spread make the TV news and radio 5. Make the Town council answer in a public debate. Put the town up for most boring town etc to embaress the council in to moveing forward and becoming a town to be proud of. Having a leauge club in a new ground would go a long way to getting that.

Our MP is firmly in support of the NM, as are the rest of the Labour party.

The 10 million enquiry made about the GM last week?
Use Marston for PR, well he knows how to get in the national press now.

Lets have the club owned by people who can fund the construction work themselves without spinning an overly long series of interconnected transactions that are fraught with complication at each stage.

Sean, show everyone where these people are, if they exist they would have come forward before now, or made themselves known, just a fantasy!!

The fantasy is getting the covenant lifted and/or housing built on the New Meadow within the next 18 months.

That was a slip up by Sayfritz, no housing on MN just on GM, as for the covenant not worth the paper its written on, its being used as an excuse, you still haven't said where the wealthy people are Sean..................

It wasn't a slip up. I've checked it with Ian.
You should be asking where's the Plan B.

I have asked for the supporters group to meet with the bosses and search for the truth. As niether STFC or the council will say it. As for bulding houses on NM site, He He 2 years ago it was suggested by a local Cllr as another way out for the council, flamin hell how our board and council move not....................................

If the covenant wasn't such a problem why have we been waiting months for plans to go in for the Gay Meadow?
