A pint of anything half decent is £6.50 to £7.00 in Brighton. Even without gout I would avoid pubs nowadays. It’s a real shame as I think that pubs are essentially positive for communities. Destroyed by over taxation. So much cheaper to drink at home. European wines, of course!

I remember them all (cant think of all the names right now). And I was too young to have drunk in all of them, just most of them. Used to drink in The Green Man early 70s very scary 😟 The Green Man, my first ever 'local'. Spent most lunchtimes along with others from New College as 16 year olds who should have been back studying in the afternoons back in 1975. Great jukebox (which we learnt how to manipulate so you could put as much music as you wanted on for your 5 pence), table football, and the outside toilets. Was either there or standing in the sawdust on the floor just down the road at the Kings Head.
