wow - we really needed that result! Nothing much changes though - most of this lot will still need clearing out by PH at the end of this season. Thank goodness you are not the head coach, wouldn't want the team to come in after a well won home win to hear that.

Just looking at the other results in league 1, wow, Lincoln City are on some run! Exeter managed to protect a one goal lead against Burton despite having Jules sent off at the end of the 1st half. Creditable point away at Barnsley for Cheltenham - I think Cambridge look far more likely for the drop than them - together with Port Vale, Fleetwood and Carlisle.

Good stuff Town. Job done, massive three points. And whilst Carlisle did have a fair bit of the ball in our half and around our area it wasn't too nervous, not as much as I thought it would be without a second for Town anyhow. They are clearly down there for a reason.
I think we were right to put an bit of emphasis on these last three games and whilst it didn't happen for us against Exeter (that was just one of those things, it happens, etc.) we've done as much as we could have hoped when looking to the wins today and against Vale. So some difficult games ahead but at least we have a bit of breathing space to play with, the pressure isn't what it was (for the meantime anyhow). Up the Town!!

Take that all day long. Couple of top saves from Marko, otherwise fodder opposition we should've put to the sword.
Pleasing to see Jacky P out there and will add that class in mid. His right leg would displace Perry.
6 from the big week, nearly home now ready for the clear out.

Only 2 wins from the bottom 6 in the last 30 games for them - most encouraging!

A valuable three points – great stuff!
Hopefully we have a win or two more in us before we sign off for the season.

Two woeful sides, one fractionally better than the other.
A long, long summer ahead.

Did what was required, but its a bit disappointing to only put one goal against a really dreadful side at this level.Should have been a lot more comfortable.
But despite that there were some positive performances, and let's face it At this stage of the season a win is very much a win.
We went into these 3 games looking worryingly at the bottom 4, but 6 points now makes the table look very differently. The sides at the bottom were picking up a few points but that seems to have stopped a bit. No wins from any of the bottom 4 in the last 3 games now, and neither have Cambridge or Burton. So town look in a much safer position in the trusty 17th

good victory, Carlisle fluffed a couple of golden chances, we did the same but we were far better and deserved the 3 points, nice to see Jack get a run, clearly not match fit but looked well organised and should get up to speed each game he plays, Benning looked good again, even obrien was putting a shift in, first half at least, Flanagan settled in well too, was actually my MOM, well done town all but safe

Job done, that’s all we can ask for at this moment in time. We are a poor side but there are at least 4 teams poorer I think. Will be a busy summer for Paul Hurst and M Moore if he is still here……

I thought the ref was poor. Very inconsistent with his decisions and very whistle happy.

Very relieved to get a win, but it was two poor teams with town just slightly better, two vital saves from marosi, I thought the one just before half time was off side, I'd like to see the highlights as I thought it looked as if we deserved a penalty I thought O Brian made an impact he was a lot more mobile than udoh and did well when he had the ball and was also vocali. trying to organise the players around he also pressed well.im pleased udoh scored but Perry and Sobowale missed two chances , it was nice to see Pryce come up to Sobowale and say something and pat him on the back after his miss, I sit in block 15 and the lino was useless, gave three throw I sto Carlisle that should have been ours and missed two handballs, but a vital win and more of fighting performance from town.

A very disjointed and low quality game.
Interesting to note the experienced international hands of O'Brien and Flanagan b*ll*cking the more golden Benning and Bloxham. That may deserve a thread in itself.
Price's introduction was good and the subs worked, Bowman closed down the Carlisle defence when needed, Sobowale added pace.
You wouldn't think Carlisle are bottom, but that may be more because Town aren't great.
Another terrible referee.
Taylor Perry did better, was that a penalty on Bayliss as well? - I thought Dunkley is looking jaded, either he wants to go somewhere else next season or he's tired trying to pick up and rally an unconfident and disjointed side.
Marosi made some good saves, especially one at the end of the first half and again in the second. - He would be my MOTM.

Not something I wish to see from a Salop player.

It wasn't pretty, but all that mattered was the win and 3 points, and there was a palpable sense of relief at the final whistle. It was lovely to see smiling faces at The Meadow for a change!
I thought that Paul Hurst got the big decisions right, and I was struck by the contributions of Flanagan and O'Brien, not least because of their cajoling, and occasional bollocking, of teammates!
With Jack Price adding his knowhow late on, the team had an experienced feel about it, and this certainly helped to get them over the line.
Three more points should see us safe, and we can all look forward to an interesting, to say the least, close season!

I thought it may have been a dive from Bayliss and I agree if so, its not cleaver.
Yes the big game experience from O'Brien and Flanagan was crucial. Also Elliott Bennett's constant encouragements from the sidelines should not go unnoticed.
Price looks to be the steady head in midfield that is needed. I'd hope that he will be here next season, but I'm not sure we will see much of that XI play together in the future.

Its Price. Although Kennah did have a good long shot on him.

I thought the ref was poor. Very inconsistent with his decisions and very whistle happy. Thought he was significantly better than some of the dreadful ones we’ve had recently. That said, the west stand lino seemed keen to give Tuesday’s chump a run for his incompetent money. Missed a glaring offside late in the first half that Marosi thankfully rescued and gave a goal kick instead of a very obvious corner to us. As if the football wasn’t bad enough!
