But surely the three year and two and a half contracts offered to Mata and Idowu are not cheap?
Its strange because the loan signing have all been rubbish. some of whom arrived in cotton wool or were ordered to be kept as such Phillips and I suspect Finnigan and Fleming.
How much did Elliott Thorpe play in the six months.

How much did Elliott Thorpe play in the six months. Spot on. If we are ‘shopping in the bargain aisle’ as others allude to, then what little funds we have has to be spent wisely, on both permanent and loans, and the simple unarguable fact is that it hasn’t. At best you can say there’s been a couple of successful signings, a handful of okay ones and the majority being stinkers.

the guy hasn't even had 1 season yet in what is a long term strategy for the long term future of the club , has been forced to shop in the bargain basement , the only ones moaning, have moaned from day 1 The long term strategy to safeguard the future of the club lasted less than 6 months with the departures of Brophy, Edwards, Delves and Taylor with the arrivals of Dooley & Hurst. And as much as you try and turn this onto fans, these comings & goings are all centred around one man. What would be fascinating is whether this long term strategy you speak of is still in place or whether it's been superseded by the personnel changes. Or of course whether it really existed in the first place.

Feeney and Benning are the only two signings that are reasonable. I think you could (have at one point) made a case for Sobowale (who sometimes get lumped into the failure of the League of Ireland experiment, though his first touch is woeful) and Sraha (injury prone and sitting behind the goal at Port Vale I saw the amount of shirt grabbing he does, never a good sign)
Feeney should get a lot more credit, he's the one playing out of position against speedy wingers, he adjusts himself well whilst also covering for the sometimes overhyped centre back pairing.
Benning - was discarded by Port Vale, I bet they wished they had someone steady now. Was signed because of the injury to George Nurse.
I suspect that Bennings one year contract, plus Feeney's two year (seeing he came from poor paying Carlisle) are hardly costing the earth.
Its the likely bigger earners that have failed.
I suspect signing have been made because of their cheapness rather than their footballing worth or ability to add to a decent squad.
Reminds me of the line 'The Price of everything and the value of nothing' Mickey Moore is this you?

This board is independent of the club and always will be, at the same time if some supporters want to support the new structure then that's their prerogative. Personally I would love the new structure to work as I believe it is in the best interest of the club long term. Whether or not it will be given the chance though remains to be seen.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree about the new structure. It's just that I feel the people are wrong based on their performance to date.

The director of football is still here , nothing has changed there Yes he is here but based on the names I've said have come & gone since his arrival, do you think that doesn't change things with him? He said himself the model would be he would work alongside an inexperienced coach, thats gone out of the window. A CEO has come in, I'd assume that is going to impact his remit too. This isn't any criticism of him (or anyone), it's just saying I'd struggle to believe that the role of Mickey Moore has not been impacted by the people who have come in since he was appointed. It would be interesting to hear what the long strategy of the club is though, for starters I'd like to know how we plan to stop the reliance on the (two man) board bankrolling the club
