And that is how it should be!!!.but I can't understand why he went for a D.O.F.....and a couple more under him....it all costs money.....how much is Mickey Moore on,and the others beneath him???🤔🤔 Should be a basic salary and then commission on player sales, becomes performance based then.

Who did the heads of recruitment (Burt), academy (Longwell) & coaching (Cotterill) report to before, CEO? Now we have a DoF & CEO, the latter who has no involvement in the footballing side.

Saw a few posts from Sligo fans over the weekend asking what the hell we have done to Mata as he's gone back to them a changed player (and obviously not in a good way!). Sounds like his confidence has been completely shot

Saw a few posts from Sligo fans over the weekend asking what the hell we have done to Mata as he's gone back to them a changed player (and obviously not in a good way!). Sounds like his confidence has been completely shot So we signed on a three year deal, (three years as moore mantra is to develop them) and paid a rumoured 150k for, and after 6 months realised he wasn't league one standard, so offloaded him back to where he came from, and the development we've put in has rendered him less than Irish Prem standard. Good work! ...Where are Gozi Ugwu and Barudin Atajic playing now a days 😂

He's done nothing since he's gone back to them.

It probably did nothing for his confidence that he was waiting ages for international clearance.

It probably did nothing for his confidence that he was waiting ages for international clearance. I can't see that being the reason at all. It's more the fact it's a p**spoor signing.

Well he's having a better night tonight. Sligo are 4-0 up at half time, he's scored once and got 2 assists (according to LiveScore)

That sounds like the sort of prospect for the future we ought to be signing, oh wait, we already did.

Happy for him and hopefully a good end to the season will make him easier to move on in the summer.

How long is his loan for? Is it to the end of our season, or till the end of the Irish season in the autumn?
Thinking that if we view him as one for the future we would want him to have some sort of summer break. If its till the end of the Irish season he probably wont be with us again.

Would imagine it would be til the end of ours? ...then get him back for pre season under Hurst and Doig which would be a better one than he had under Taylor

Irish teams normally sign English based players on loan until the end of June, but they usually try to get them extended if they are playing well.

Just a quick update on how Max is doing in Sligo. Played in all six league games so far this season and has scored 4 goals in his last two games having scored 0 in his first four! Obviously a confidence striker who needs a run of games to get going! PS, he also has 2 assists!

Just wonder if he is a player PH can coach to the levels needed for L1?

Just wonder if he is a player PH can coach to the levels needed for L1? Glad he is scoring some, and hopefully regaining some confidence but it's a poor league, well off League one level. Compare it to other players who are scoring in the league. Patrick Hoban is prolific in League of Ireland. Scored 6 in 6 games. His record in England: 7 in 77 games (league two and national league level). 36 year old Padraig Amond has also scored 4. In England, never played above league two and left Woking in January having scored 5 goals in 27 matches. Will Jarvis, on loan from Hull. Also got 4 goals. Was on loan last season in National League North, where he got 1 goal (his only goal in England). Scoring goals in Ireland sadly doesn't equate to scoring at this level. Look at Aiden Keena. He was the leagues top scorer for Sligo before moving to to Cheltenham last year. This season he's not got a single goal in 34 league games (39 in all comps).

I think even I’d have managed a tap in at some point if I’d played 39 games for Cheltenham this season.

Not even an assist this season either. That amount of games is a bit misleading though as he's incredibly becoming a bench player for them (understandably). He's still under contract next season with them so wonder if he will get another crack at it, possibly more likely if they go down.
