Last Tuesday was one of the most embarrassing nights of our recent history, a week later 0-2 at home to Accrington ****ing Stanley, who themselves beat practically the same Liverpool side we could barely muster a shot against, the bloke has to go tonight.

It’s going to be 6 goals in the last 9 games, that is horrendous.
After being firmly Ricketts in a few weeks ago, I am really doubting the bloke now.

Dread to think what it will be like at Pompey if SR is still in charge. And I’ve got my ticket!

The good news is Bolton and Southend loosing. Tranmere and Wimbledon drawing. No real relegation worries.
Unexpected victory at Pompey on the way

That sums it up pretty well I think. I backed Ricketts up until Xmas. Post Xmas it has been shocking

The only consolation I can think of is that I'm hooted and with 4 minutes injury time, it means I need to crack open another can.

I mentioned after the game at Anfield that, were these two home games not to go well, that this could be a watershed moment for Ricketts. That now appears to be the case.

A 0-2 defeat at home to a struggling Accie with the goals coming from ex-Town players, just to rub salt into the wounds.
We're woefully out of form with a manager who doesn't seem to know what he is doing. Just where is the next win coming from?
But don't worry, folks. As our inspirational leader said after the MK Dons game: "We were overachieving and (now) we’re perhaps smack on for where the club should be."
Just waiting for the post-match interview bulls**t bingo to begin: "Tired bodies/low on numbers/Ollie's out/Vela's not quite ready/Accrington didn't play on Saturday/bad day at the office/we go again etc. etc"

We won't do the double over anyone this season because once they play us they know how we play, and we never change!

Oh dear, had hoped that Doncaster was going to be the low point. We have some really very good players for this level - you have to start to think that tactics are the problem. Want Ricketts to turn it around, but beginning to doubt. Ebanks Landell MoM for me by a country mile - never gave up and looked good when flipping to right back.

I’m really worried about relegation now. Tranmere have 1 point in 5 games and have scored no goals. There is no way they are making up 12 points on us in 16 games.

Dunno what to think. I'm not going to have a pop at those who are in attendance tonight booing and giving Ricketts grief. I think with the cost and effort they put in they are well within their right to voice their disapproval. Because it is poor. We look all over the place. We look as though we don't have a clue. However, I do feel for Ricketts. He's still a young and inexperienced manager and he's having to cope with things now that I'm not entirely sure he's had to deal with before. And at a level he's only really been just introduced to. I guess its now all about how long you give him, whether you see something there to suggest that in time he'll have the answer, have all this sorted and he's capable of fixing things when things go awry. Not sure I have seen enough of that as yet.

That was dreadful.
Why was our best player from Saturday's game on the bench?
Love was an embarrassment.
No width to the side at all. With Giles now at Coventry and Whalley out for some time, we haven't a man capable of crossing the ball. Neither Love nor Golbourne are wing backs.
Passing was shocking throughout the game. Both goals were preventable.
Accrington were nothing special but won easily.

There is no way whatsoever that 4,699 spectators were there. As usual, they've included all the season ticket holders, a fair % of which clearly weren't there.

Full-time Shrewsbury Town 0-2 Accrington Stanley.
I think when your manager says you've found your level this season and you're not going anywhere, and makes someone like me even begin to question if I should watch us, then this result was 100% inevitable.
Crazy decision by Ricketts to say all this in my opinion. It's obviously been taken on board by all the players.

Reckon we could lose the reman8ng games and stills be safe. We can't be complacent, we have a lot of tough games remaining and need quite a few more points yet. The longer the win less run goes on the worse it will get, remember 2002/3, these things can get out of hand if they're not turned around sooner rather than later.

Imagine effectively telling your employers, the fans and (most importantly) your players that all they're good for is 16th/17th in league one? How does that reflect on you? Pure foot in mouth time, that interview was, and then to go on to this tonight.
Town are in relegation form. If it wasn't for the staggeringly poor standard in this division this season and the financial problems of 2 clubs, town would be in the bottom 4 without a doubt. I'm honestly thinking we need a change pre end of season just to attempt to convince some of our better players to stay.
Can't see any of Williams, Laurent, Ebanks-Landell, Pierre or Cummings being especially keen on staying given they've not had much time to build up a good connection with the club. Hopefully Whalley and Beckles are settled and will stick around. That puts us firmly back to square one come May, regardless of lofty ideals about building for the future.
Real shame for Sam; I honestly can see the logic behind the initial appointment and don't doubt that he might go on to have a bright future as a manager with a bit more experience under his belt but I'm not sure town can afford to hang about while he learns on the job.
