I have just sent this to the football league for comment i suggest others do the same so we don't have to face this problem again
"Having observed the game this evening from afar I couldn't get to the game please could you explain how a Wiltshire based referee is allowed to referee a game involving swindon who are Wiltshire's only league club. It cannot be seen as being a clever decision in fact I would go as far as to suggest you have made a mistake. Any decision now during that game brought raised eyebrows especially a clear penalty decision which if you see it you will realize my thoughts and need to send you this email. even more important from an honest football fan is to receive your thoughts on this matter. I await with interest."

The ref was from Wiltshire?
This amazes me and of course will lead to speculation regarding some decisions and in particular the penalty decision which Di canio and Defender have said was defo and a red.

Why bother, be swept under the carpet as usual.

Better to have it raised than to ignore it as you never know who may ref a game at the end of the season or even during the play offs. Frankly I'm amazed that shrewsbury town haven't made it known they were not happy with this appointment.
If the football league would like me to I would be willing to do all the rest of shrewsbury's games.

I think the club should have said something publicly before the game and defo after it and make it known otherwise they will be seen as rolling over and saying nothing.
It works for Sir Alex

Apart from the clear penalty that was not given (and the sending off that it would have lead to) what else did the ref get wrong? By the way, I am not from Wiltshire and I do hope the ref drove into a ditch on the way home and will be stuck in mud (no snow around now) for the next two months with only his urine to drink.

Well done, genuinely. They may fob you off but it might just make them think a little harder before they organise things so stupidly in future. If he'd been a good ref it would have put him under a lot of additional pressure. As it is, he seems to have been useless and the situation is made worse. All completely avoidable.
I'll join you with an email tomorrow.

I actually thought he had a decent game, penalty incident aside.
Apparently he didn't give it because Gornell was "already going down." Why the hell would he look to go down when he is 12 yards out one on one with the goalkeeper?
Ludicrous decision!

Gornell was about to score - he had noting to gain from going down.

It also needs pointing out that he was miles behind play at the time and his physique would raise questions over his ability to keep up with play.
He actually bottled the decision and appeared to be hoping that the lineman would take responsibility for the call, he put the whistle to his mouth!
Absolute disgrace, after the Wigglesworth incident beginning to feel that we are cursed.

Right... Let's get this straight...
Are you seriously suggesting that the ref never gave the penalty because he comes from Wiltshire?
Anyone e-mailing the FL to even suggest this could quite honestly be subject to legal action, as it is a hell of an accusation, and you have no clear proof.
The ref made a mistake. He didn't not give the penalty on purpose, a mistake,
So as opposed to Victorsboots, I would sugest not sending any emails, it would be a waste of time. Maybe should have been done BEFORE the match, but now.... no.
Would you be complaining if we never got the penalty but still went on to win? I think not...

I'll email regarding this, not that he cheated, just that it shouldn't be allowed. The penalty was the big decision but I felt we got nothing much off him all night, thought he needed linesman assistance for easy decisions, was indecisive and the game got to him maybe? I dunno Another name I will not forget for a while, I've a disgusting gut instinct we'll lose out by that 1 point again

Surely if Gornell was 'already going down' it was either a free kick, penalty, or a booking for diving - he gave nothing.
If the ref was from Wiltshire then it should not be allowed - at one time I thought local refs were not allowed. He bottled it simples!

Crazy decision to have him as ref, it meant Town players were more or less playing with one leg tied behind their back.

Football isn't suited to your namby-pamby attitude and inherent softness. I would suggest you seriously reconsider your interest in the sport.

Atleast we're getting some decent coverage on sky that millions will be watching, showing just what a disgraceful bottler that referee is! Never seen Turner like it but as he says, "we've never seen a decision like that"
