So after another downer, and most teams having games in hand, who do we think will make the top 7 come the end of the season.
Not bothered about in what order ( we won't make top 3 )
Your thoughts...........

Regardless of todays defeat if Town can win 10 of their remaining 18 games with a couple of draws they will be in the playoffs
Personally I think we will fall short and with the current squad we will finish 9th or 10th but we need to trust in Simpson and avoid this managerial merry go round , our time will come eventually just not this season, I think a little patience is required to assemble a top 3 promotion winning squad.

First Simpson spends a fortune on new players, but it isn't really his team so we did well to make the play offs. Next Simpson builds a new team much more balanced than the season before, do not miss Holt and Davies and we play some of the worse football seen by a Town team in years. Now you ask for him to have a third bite of the cherry, if it happens just watch the attendances drop.

I think a little patience is required to assemble a top 3 promotion winning squad. Currently, the following 1st team players contracted here for next season are (may have missed someone?) : Neal, Arestidou, Holden, Taylor, Langmead, Disley, Dunfield, Leslie, Neal, Bright, Elder, Robinson It'll take something remarkable to turn that into a top 3 chasing squad in my view. So 2011/12 it is then ;-)

No 2nd division side can afford to have a third professional keeper. Third keeper should be the Youth keeper.

1. Rochdale 2. Rotherham 3. Notts Co ------------------- 4. Bury 5. Chesterfield 6. D&R 7. Bournemouth
Prior to yesterday I would have thought that our chances we're pretty decent of a top 7 slot. Yesterday just empasised how wafer thin our squad is currently. This result and performance may be a blessing in disguise. If Simmo was eager to bring in reinforements during the week I must imagine he'll be desperate to do so now. We have only one decent striker and nothing in the wide positions. Just wonder who Simmo can pull out the bag at this late stage before the window shuts.

7.Salop, [with two new additions of quality minimum] otherwise 9-12th Agree. Who the Club can get in during the next 48hrs and on into the loan period are important if we are to grab that 7th spot. Just hope they don't spend silly money on players who may (or not) be past their best.

Top 3 is between Rochdale, Bury, Notts County (if they don't go into admin) & Rotherham. Games in hand may catch up with Notts & Rotherham though - they've got half a season to play in 3 months and will drop a good few points.
4th - 7th (positions don't really matter) wide open - whoever misses out from the group above, Bournemouth are sliding (despite yesterday's win) but should have enough, then whichever two can get a winning run going from here. Could be us but that doesn't look likely at the moment.

Rochdale, Rotherham, Notts County, Aldershot, D&G, Bournemouth & Bury I disagree. Italian fashion houses often struggle at this level.
