Just got back myself.
First half was simply awful. Second half we were decent. Seriously need to stop hoofing the ball all the time.
On the bright side I thought the atmosphere was pretty damn good where I was sitting in block 18. Constant cheering and singing for the entire 90 minutes.

We were always going to make Kempson look good when we're playing long ball to him, very poor performance today. Robinson's miss was the turning point of the match.

Accrington Stanley were the better team and fully deserved to win. Also credit to those fans of theres who didn't shut up for the whole game. Thought the majority of the town fans were pretty decent aswell, a fair bit of vocal support.
I think the signs were against us from the moment Langmead lost the toss and we got turned round. Especially as I commented beforehand, "It will be important to kick our usual way because of the sun"
We had a couple of chances, Hibbert seemed to run through an open alley straight down the middle of the pitch, but as is he problem with all our plays, that extra touch when he should have pulled the trigger, and the chance went.
If Robinson had scored things would have been different, I'm sure of it. He just couldn't get the ball out of his feet and ended up shovelling it from behind him really.
I thought the endevour was there from Town, but precious little else. Accrington seemed quicker to react, quicker to the loose ball, and always seemed to emerge from 50-50s with the ball.
Michael Symes played well and probably should have had a couple, though it was nice to see him get a good reception and respond to it.
Hopefully we can write this one off as just one of those games where we simply lost to the better team. Don't get carried away with this defeat, in the same way you shouldn't have got carried away with the little run we were on

Terrible first half ,much better second Their keeper made a great save at start of second half If we had scored it might have been very different!

Thought Accrington out battled us and were good value for the win, they were physically stronger than us and then kept the ball well when they won it.
Our midfield was poor today and too lightweight, though we improved a bit when Leslie came on for Disley.

1st half we didn't look like professional footballers, it was that bad. 2 of our players just did not look interested which is a bit worrying. 2nd half was better but how chances did we create. all in all a rubbish performance.

Accy the better team. They bossed the midfield especially in the first half. Again, it was the 'same old, same old' for us. Nobody to play alongside Hibbert capable of playing the poaching role and no supply or creativity getting through from midfield.
A goal poacher and a creative midfielder please, but make it quick Simmo !
A far cry from last week, but not a terrible performance against a good side who look like they'll be knocking on the promotion door soon. On the downside, unless we're more positive in creating chances and more ruthless when we get them then i'm afraid it's League 2 again next season.
I hope Maccy feel an 'attacking' backlash next week.

One minor point about an otherwise decent Accy side they didnt half dive a lot and not just in the area !!However they did look like they should have had a penalty for a hand ball but it wasnt given

Also a couple of clearances off the line means we created chances. If you dont take them you dont get anything. Simple

How can we be so good one week and so average the next? It's embarrassing that a smaller team with much less support than us and well-documented financial problems can not only beat us on our own patch but deserve to win it. Hats off to Coleman for assembling a decent side on the cheap which knows what it is doing.
At least Simpson has admitted making a mistake - or as much as he is going to - by selecting Disley instead of Leslie. Disley was clearly not at the races but even when he is fit doesn't have the pace or trickery to beat his defender and get to the byline.

Disappointing performance today, thought we seemed pretty flat for most of the game and didn't play with the same desire as last week.
We lacked width, decent balls into the box and quality in the final third.
Big fan of Robinson but he was por today. He should have done better with the early chance he had and if that'd gone in maybe we'd have had a different game on our hands.
Just when you thought we'd turned the corner, eh? But hopefully this will be the blip and we'll get back to the good form we've shown since Bradford.

a terrible 1st half performance !
such a let down after last week
accy the better team
disley and neal were shocking
a poor miss by robinson
the defence played too deep and we were over run in midfield
far too many 'hoof' balls from SCS / Langers
accy timewasting was annoying
as usual though town follow up a good performance with a bad one
thought blocks 18 / 19 tried hard for about 15mins at the start of the 2nd half !

A classic Simpson style performance.
To be honest I was expecting exactly this kind of performance last week, so in the end I just had to wait 7 days.
Only formation/tactical switch of note was throwing Langmead upfront with 5 minutes to go..........Anyone could have said do that.

Impressed with Accrington, fully deserved their win. Remember they stuffed Notts County at Meadow Lane so we shouldn't be to surprised they beat us. . Macintyre needs a rest, replace him with Murray and how on earth Simpson feels Disley should be in instead of Leslie is beyond me. At home, we should have Lewis Neale on the right and Leslie giving balance on the left.

i'm sorry Simmo but why can all the supporters see that Disley is not suited out wide and you can't. if you played him to try and protect D.Taylor a bit you got it completely wrong. we're at home and we want wingers higher up the pitch .

accy were decent, but no way should they come to our patch and dictate the game to us, no matter how well accy played we should be calling the shots, only one team played the football today and it wasnt us,

Another dismal afternoon at the Prostar. We got what we deserved today. In the first half we were completely overrun in midfield. Mind you Disley and Neal contributed nothing. Stanley made us look the side we are - mediocre. Must admit I'm really tiring of other teams coming to the prostar and passing & moving better than us. Please please Mr Simpson sign a right sided midfielder and let's see if we can find a settled partner for Hibbert.

I was in block 16 and could hear a pin drop for the first 20 minutes. Thought i was in a library apart from the accy drum... Not a critisicm of the fans as the football was shocking and didnt encourage any songs...

I think a draw would have been a fair result overall. We could (and should) have troubled the scorers more than once today and Accy could have had one or two more aswell.
McIntyre might as well have been wearing a red shirt today as the bulk of his distribution seemed to end up finding a Stanley player, same can be said for Neal and Disley. Robinson was a big disappointment after the promise of last week.
Massive shame to lose as, no dis-respect to Accy, this had to have been seen as a very very winnable fixture. Not as dis-heartened as I have been by other defeats and I'm confident we can get back on track at Macclesfield.
Danny Taylor would be my MotM for what it's worth.

A draw would have been a total travesty to Accy. Button kept it at 1-0
They were by far the better team - passed, moved, kept it on the floor to the feet of their players. We hoofed to Hibbo. As ShrewEd says even Kempson was spraying passes around the park!!!
In the summer the Board decided to field an inexpensive, cheap shod, unentertaining, unambitious, thread bare squad this season. They decided to offload quality. Strange but true. But did make one joke signing who is - thank God - no longer with us til the summer.
What more can we expect given their appraoch back then.
Oh ... just remembered Accy get 1,500 fans ... someone there seems to be able to do a lot with little. This summer madness and its approach will come back to haunt us when season ticket sales are announced.

Accy deserved the victory in my view (although I only saw the first 70 minutes).
That defeat has put to bed any lingering automatic promotion hopes that some people may have had, and we need to put together some kind of run again in order to hang onto the coat-tails of the 7th placed side.
The performance, just as much as the result, was a real kick in the nads.
It's going to take something exceptional to keep Simpson in a job for next season I think.
